Katja Lang Berlin

Katja Lang was born in 1968 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, now Chemnitz. After completing her degree in architecture at the Technical University of Dresden in 1993, she gradually turned her focus toward the visual arts. In 2009, she completed a master’s degree in painting and printmaking at the Dresden University of Fine Arts under Professor Elke Hopfe.

Since 2008, her work has concentrated primarily on printmaking—particularly etching—as well as watercolor. In the same year, she began creating artist books and portfolios. Since 2018, her artistic focus has shifted predominantly to drypoint, which she continues to explore in depth in her Berlin studio. She has lived and worked in Berlin since 2016.
